The best way of celebrating Army day is tireless and silent struggle, a struggle for a strong state

The best way of celebrating Army day is tireless and silent struggle, a struggle for a strong state. Coming back from Artsakh we stopped off in Aghavno.

The smell of the freshly baked bread wafted out to the village entrance; we headed straight for the bakery where we met with Aghavno community leader Andranik Chaushyan. Homeland starts with its borders and each of us is the soldier of his/her part of the border; people in Ariavan fully realize the meaning of these words. Andranik Chaushyan is one of those soldiers who didn’t desert their positions, fought and won. During the 44-day war Aghavno was on target, the enemy was trying to breach its defence at all costs, but didn’t succeed. Today Ariavan is getting back on its feet with small but bold steps.

Not only does Andranik Chaushyan shoulder the responsibility of village administration, but also those of its protection and development, which he accepts without complaint. And also with the example of his own family, Andranik shows the formula of keeping his village and homeland strong; he is a father of 5 kids, 4 sons and 1 daughter, who were born and are growing up in Ariavan.
