New Jobs in Artsakh: Poultry Farm Opened With the Support of Genesis Armenia

A poultry farm opened in Martuni, Artsakh, the construction of which started in March of this year. The business project budget is 7 million drams.

“Genesis Armenia stands with Artsakh and has the security and development of Artsakh as one of the fundamental tenets of its ideology. We are not doing charity work. We provide education, experience, and skills to our compatriots, creating jobs and an effective work environment. With the profit of this poultry farm, we plan to implement several similar projects in Artsakh,” said director of the Genesis Armenia Think Tank/Foundation, Abraham Gasparyan.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, Samvel Vardanyan, is convinced that the creation of new jobs should be the underlying purpose of all projects. Genesis Armenia will soon implement projects in the agriculture and horticulture sectors with the same goal of creating new jobs so that the people of Artsakh can stay and work in Artsakh, being certain that someone has their back,” said Vardanyan.

The poultry farm is located in the backyard of the beneficiary, Pavel Avagyan. The work was started from scratch and lasted a month. At the moment, there are about 700 hens and chicks in the poultry farm. According to preliminary calculations, the number of the chicks will increase with 1200-1500 in the coming months.

“We are not worried about the sales. With the help of Genesis Armenia and the advice of experts, we have a clear idea of the further course of the work. It is paramount that there are many projects like this. Now, more than ever, the people of Artsakh need a job to stay here and not think of leaving,” said Pavel Avagyan, the project beneficiary.

The newly opened poultry farm provides employment to six residents of Martuni. Genesis Armenia intends to expand the project and add new jobs.
