The army is the only tangible and real guarantor of our state’s independence

Dear Armenian people, officers, soldiers, and veterans,

We congratulate all of us on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.

January 28 is marked in red on the Armenian calendar because this day is the day of Armenia’s combat baptism, the day of the Armenian people’s expression of their will to live free and independent in their own homeland.

Our army was created thanks to the moral consciousness, sense of responsibility, dedication, and sacrifice of the children, parents, and leaders of the Armenian people, in pursuit of historical justice and devotion to the homeland, with an awareness of Armenian continuity and the future. We are obliged to protect it as the apple of our eye.

Regardless of party or political affiliation, or our attitude toward state authority, the army is the main guarantor of our state’s security, the backbone of the state, a symbol of the Armenian people’s right to exist, genuine independence, sovereignty, and national dignity.

Despite the harsh reality of accepting the results of the wars it has waged, the victories it has forged, the setbacks it has faced, and the defeats imposed on it, the army continues to remain the only tangible and real guarantor of our state’s independence.

We wish the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia continued development, high technological and combat readiness and unwavering dedication to values; we wish the servicemen health, professional success, and safe service in the fulfillment of Armenia’s and the Armenian people’s national-state objectives.

Long live the Armenian army!

Glory to those who have laid down their lives for the Armenian people and Armenia.
