In recent days, Nikol Pashinyan\u2019s publicly offensive and slanderous remarks targeting the Armenian Apostolic Church and its clergy clearly serve political purposes and promote a pre-election agenda. This rhetoric and behavior are aimed at undermining public trust in the Church\u2019s esteemed authority, fueling ideological polarization in the lead-up to the elections, and influencing the consciousness of various social groups.<\/span><\/p>\n

A group driven solely by a political agenda and an obsessive desire to retain power is carrying out an order to completely destroy the fragile bridges of national trust and solidarity. The synchronized and identical actions and rhetoric of various government bodies aimed at discrediting the Armenian Church\u2014aligned solely with the interests of states hostile to the Armenian people and the Republic of Armenia\u2014are part of a planned operation, not impulsive or erratic behavior.<\/span><\/p>\n

We condemn this campaign against the Armenian Church, viewing it not only as yet another attack on our national and value-based foundations, but also as an attempt by the authorities to overstep all moral boundaries for the sake of political survival, to morally degrade the public, and to overshadow serious security threats.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Church, as the axis of our national identity, resilience, and unity for centuries, has been the solid pillar of the Armenian people\u2019s spiritual identity. Any attack\u2014whether direct or indirect\u2014against it is, in reality, an attack on our historical memory, roots, values, and state-building mindset.<\/span><\/p>\n

Let us note that state power, without solid pillars of national and spiritual values, becomes an institutionally nullified body with destructive consequences. Any offensive or divisive statement made by the highest representative of the government cannot contribute to social harmony. This is a logical continuation of the anti-national and anti-state policy adopted over the past seven years by Nikol Pashinyan and his ruling circle. Such rhetoric is particularly abhorrent when it emerges against the backdrop of fake patriotic and anti-scientific statements voiced during the celebration of the 107th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia.<\/span><\/p>\n

We call on our compatriots to strongly condemn the immoral conduct of the authorities\u2014from desecrating the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims to denying the Armenian identity of Artsakh, and devaluing national identity, institutions, and sacred values. At the same time, we urge vigilance and resistance to the authorities’ manipulative trap aimed at diverting attention from urgent security agendas, exhausting public resilience, and serving narrow political interests at any cost.<\/span><\/p>\n

The defense of national identity, spiritual dignity, and national unity is not only a right but also a duty toward our future generations.<\/span><\/p>\n
