Genesis Armenia: The Armenian authorities are incapable of advancing the national and state interests of Armenia, Artsakh, and the Armenian people

With a statement to end hostilities, the Armenian authorities ceded 75 percent of the territory of the Republic of Artsakh on paper, thereby violating the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, and refusing to meet the obligations arising from the Constitution to ensure the security of the Republic of Artsakh.
Due to the unbalanced and reckless diplomatic line adopted by the authorities, the successive political and security concessions have now brought Armenia and the Armenian people to the brink of an existential threat. During their time in office, the authorities have proven that they are incapable of advancing the national and state interests of Armenia, Artsakh, and the Armenian people—in terms of Armenia’s foreign policy, considering the unilateral concessions.
The exhaustion of the authorities’ resilience, potential, and capacity in neutralizing external challenges facing Armenia has opened the door to additional pressure for Azerbaijan, which continues to create further security, and military and political obstacles to eliminating the consequences of the 44-day war unleashed against Armenia, ensuring peaceful coexistence and fulfilling its international obligations not to violate Armenia’s territorial integrity.
The disregard for the right of collective return of the people displaced in the wake of the one-day war unleashed on Sept. 19, 2023, against Artsakh, the vandalistic destruction of Artsakh’s historical and cultural heritage, the illegal hostage-taking of Artsakh and Armenian citizens, and the bringing of trumped-up criminal cases against them, the unceasing claims on the sovereign territories of the Republic of Armenia, and the occupation of military-strategic territories in Armenia once again prove that Baku is neither sincere nor consistent in establishing relations with Yerevan, and making the peace process durable, reliable, and guaranteed by international mechanisms.
Genesis Armenia think tank/foundation pursues the implementation of potential international efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace, the realization of the right of collective return of the displaced population of Artsakh, the restoration and further preservation of Armenia’s legal personality, as well as the impartial legal and political assessment of the rights and pro-Armenian processes stipulated in the statement of November 9.
